Family Weekend 2019 - We're Almost There

We're sure you're already counting, but just in case you needed a reminder: we are just 17 sleeps away from our epic birthday weekend: our Family Weekend, taking place on the Guinea Fowl Sports Field from the 19th to the 21st of July, 2019.

The weekend is going to be filled with entertainment, music, sport and delicious food, and we would love to see every one of our residents and their families there.

We kick off on Friday evening with the Outdoor Cinema sponsored by Grundig: we are screening a remake of an all-time Disney classic: Christopher Robin. The delightful film, set in London, follows a grown-up Christopher Robin (Ewan McGregor) on his journey back to the 100 Acre Woods with Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and the rest of the gang! Entry is free: simply register your family with, and then bring down your blankets and join us on the field. We have limited edition, exclusive PICNIC BAGS on sale, too: keep your eyes peeled for that announcement!

Saturday morning starts off with sport: we've got soccer (sponsored by Regency) and touch rugby, a 4km family and an 8km adult trail run and adventure golf. On the left side of the field, we've got a seriously cool kids' entertainment area: we're talking zorb balls, sumo wrestling, jousting and a surf simulator. To sign up for sport, please e-mail you can enter as a team, or you can enter as an individual and we'll slot you into a team on the day. A special treat is a two-hour performance from Veranda Panda: you don't want to miss that! The night ends off with a moonlit night walk, a truly amazing experience. If you would like to join the night walk, e-mail

Sunday morning, we gear up for our official 15th Birthday Celebrations, by warming up with a bit of cricket. A few KZN Dolphins will be on hand to share a couple of tips. We've got cycling sponsored by Century 21, and a lovely Morning Market to browse through. As the morning warms up, we host our first annual Potjie Competition, sponsored by Seeff Ballito. The afternoon will end with a celebration of note: birthday cake and all the trimmings! If you want to enter a team into the Potjie Competition, or book a table for the Market (R100 each), please e-mail

Another piece of good news: our Estate Shuttle will be running on Saturday, and Sunday. We appeal to residents not to use their vehicles, and use the shuttle instead. Or, consider carpooling...or a lovely, cool stroll down to the Community Centre. The Guinea Fowl Community Centre parking lot will be closed for the weekend.

Get those registrations in! We cannot wait to celebrate our birthday with you!
