'Tis the season to be jolly, and 'tis the season for the stunning millettia grandis tree to flower.
Zulus refer to the tree as 'Umzimbeet', 'UmSimbithwa' or 'Umzimbeet': this beautiful tree was the inspiration behind our Estate's unique name. Translated loosely, 'umSimbithwa' means Ironwood, which is one of the road names in our Estate.
Around this time of year, the trees flower - narrow, erect spearheads of purple - absolutely beautiful to behold.
You can spot the 'Simbithi' tree on Dragon Tree Lane, at South Gate and in the SEEHOA Welcome Centre parking lot.
